Till Kuenkler Posaune

Till Künkler followed time spent in Brasil and playing as 2nd trombone in South Africa´s Free State Symphony with studies in Musicology and African studies. He studied Trombone from 2006-2012 with Ulrich Flad in Cologne and received a scholarship to study with Jim Markey and Dave Taylor at the Mannes College for Music in New York. He has played at the Lincoln Centre and at Symphony Space on Broadway in New York with the Mannes Orchestra, as well as in the New York Club Scene with Rock, Pop, and Latin-Balkan Fusion Bands. He has toured and recorded throughout Europe and the USA.
He has been a Scholar of the “Studienwerk Villingst” (2007-2012) and won first prizes in the Cologne Musikhochschule Trombone Competition and the Musicon Competition in South Africa. He was member of the International Ensemble Modern Academy working regularly with members of the Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt) and playing as guest in the Ensemble.

Recently he was awarded a stipend by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and a scholarship by the Manhatten School of Music, where he currently works towards his Doctor of Musical Arts Degree. He is a member of Ensemble Garage, gRoBA Orchestra Cologne, the International Trombone Quartet Cologne, Waduh, Marek Marple, Escarioka, KarikaturaNYC and plays frequently as a guest with well-known orchestras and bands. Throughout the last years he participated in numerous projects for German Radio and Festivals in Cologne, Aachen, Krakow and Donaueschingen.
